VOM HOFE REELS
Edward and Julius Vom Hofe Reels are of the very best quality and extremely collectable. Vom Hofe reels were made in the United States in New York and these particular models date circa 1920. They are made from German Silver and Hard Rubber and feature a unique and ingenious internal drag system using leather brake pads. They are very similar to the famous Hardy Cascapedia reels from the 30's. This particular batch of 4 which includes one rare multiplier and 3 salmon reels were made by Edward Vom Hofe and in poor condition and needed a lot of work to put right, work done included new brake pads, new screws, repolishing, repainting the red brake setting dots, straightening bent feet and handles and removing scratches from the hard rubber faceplates.
